Storytelling through video

A passion to tell stories

I have a heart and passion to tell stories. No, not lies and bad stuff, but stories of peoples lives, their hardships, their recovery, their plight. I’ve been humbled to be able to use my talents to advance the message and ministies for many years for the jail ministry at the Henderson County Detention Center’s Good News Jail & Prison Ministry and for Marsha’s Place Pregnancy Resource Center. Please view a sample of my work below.

Ashley’s life was forever changed after she was arrested for drug possession and lodged in the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center. That’s where volunteers with the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry spoke the truths of God’s word to her, helping her realized that ultimately she was born to live for God and share the freedom Jesus offers.

I’ve been working with Marsha’s Place Pregnancy Resource Center for years producing videos and photographs for their promotions, banquets, and social media posts. This year (2018) director Darla Jones and I set out to create a branding video that they can use for the next three years. Here’s what we came up with.

Amber’s life was intrenched in “sex, drugs, and rock & roll” as they say. It wasn’t until she was arrested then ended up in the Life Change program at the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry in Henderson did her life begin to turn around.

Transparency is key to having an effective ministry. Marsha’s Place Pregnancy Resource Center is not immune. This video quickly reveals the life struggles of several members of their staff and how God is working through them and their circumstances for His glory:

Mike Culiver drug use controlled his life so much at at his low he was using water from muddy pot holes to mix his drugs… always looking for that next high. This video poignantly portrays his lows and highs, culminating in his conversion to Christ.

Angie’s story is a moving tale that covers death, teenage children, divorce, drugs, and salvation.

Rob Shelton’s life of drugs spiraled down so far that he pulled a gun on his own mother. Rob transformation began in the Life Change Program at Henderson County Detention Center, and continues today.

Chaplain Alan Wood’s ministry that grew from Nebraska to Henderson, Ky., to Vanderburg County, In., to Warrick County, In.

The Answer Center in Henderson, Ky. helps hundreds of people every week with all sorts of clothing needs, minor kitchen and toiletry needs, but most of all with their spiritual needs. Each week volunteers converge on the center to assist people with their physical needs, and to share the Gospel with them.

A life of drugs and crime left Luke in jail for most of his life as a youth and young adult. However God had other plans. Check out Luke’s story in the video below:
